Ge Aviation will soon launch two derivatives to its new H80 turboprop engine.
The upcoming H75 and H85 engines will be similarly aimed at agricultural planes, but will also see use in commuter and business aircraft.
“The H80 turboprop has been extremely successful for us, and we anticipate the same level of interest for the H75 and H85,” said Paul Theofan, president and managing executive of GE Aviation’s Business and General Aviation Turboprops, in a statement. “There are several potential aircraft applications that could benefit from these two new engine models. GE looks forward to bringing these engines to the business and general aviation marketplace.”
The engines will be built in the Czech Republic.
The Federal Aviation Authority approved type certification for the H80 in March, and 50 engines are already being built this year, with 100 more expected next year.
The H80 is used in the Thrush 510G crop duster.
