An unmanned Russian cargo ship failed to dock at the International Space Station late Monday, according to NASA.
The Progress 47 was testing Russia’s new Kurs-NA rendezvous system when a failure occurred. The ship was already at ISS, and it undocked on Sunday to test the new system. It was expected to park at the docking port just before 10 p.m. when the failure occurred.
The crew will try again on July 29.
Kurs-NA is an upgraded version of the Kurs automatic docking system that has been in service for years. Te new version is supposed to be safer and more energy efficient.
